Our paper detailing effects of bacterial sphingolipid synthesis on liver phenotypes is out in Cell Host & Microbe. Congrats Henry, Min-Ting, and Kevin!

Congratulations to co-first authors Henry and Min-Ting for their work on characterizing sphingolipids that transfer from the microbiome to host and determining that bacterial sphingolipid synthesis can reverse hepatic steatosis through multiple mechanisms. Congrats to Kevin for his integral support on the biochemical and phenotype work. This paper also details methods for investigating metabolite mediated host-microbe interactions using bioorthogonal chemistry.
